About Newlands Rotary Print E-mail

Founded in November, 1993, Newlands is a enthusiastic and dynamic club situated in the heart of Cape Towns Southern Suburbs. The venue at which we meet is bounded by the world famous Newlands Rugby and Cricket Grounds and, not suprisingly, we are keen followers of these sports.  We share our emblem and colours with our neighbours, Western Province Rugby and our emblem, the 'Disa' is also the Floral Emblem for the Western Province, where Cape Town is situated.

You can find us at “The Grill Room" Western Province Sports Club "Kelvin Grove", Campground Road Newlands on Mondays at 18.15. (GPS 33o 58`30S | 18o 28`13E) Dinner is served around 19.00. Dress is 'as you are' with 'smart casual' the norm.  (On the first Monday of each month we meet with our partners, at 19:00 and our Business Meeting is on the 4th Monday of each month.)

Newlands Rotary was chartered by Claremont Rotary and our 55 members are active in all avenues of Rotary Service.

Our Club is one of 60 in District 9350, an area spanning Angola, Namibia and western South Africa.  Our District is one of 14 in Zone 20A, (Sub Saharan Africa).  The Zone covers 47 countries and comprises close to 830 Rotary Clubs and 19,500 Rotarians.
