In South Africa, enterprises that wish to transform themselves to more fully reflect the demographics of the country may undertake a number of activities in support of attaining official recognition. The benefits of the measures are recorded on a scorecard established under legislation which regulates Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment. (B-BBEE) One of the measures available to companies is investment in Social or Community projects which benefit the community and ensure the Company's alignment with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice. However, the company wishing to undertake a project often does not have the means nor experience to manage such projects and the communities likewise are not equipped. Newlands Rotary has the experience and qualifications needed for a wide variety of projects along with a strong record of successfully completing such projects. Among its members are people who have community, architecture, building, legal, accounting and other skills that can be applied for this purpose. In addition, there is full financial accountability for every rand applied, and Rotary does not itself expect payment for its services. Our skills are offered for the benefit of all parties concerned.
