Community Service (or Social Service, as it is known at Newlands Rotary) covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in our community. This service allows Rotarians to employ their time, talents and resources to respond to needs. From supporting large scale Early Childhood Development programmes to helping a neighbour in need, Rotarians try to carry forward the message of Service Above Self. Effective Community Service projects - - Are relevant to the community
- Are relevant to the community
- Serve as a learning experience for Rotarians
- Anchor a Rotary club to its community
- Determine how Rotarians can help with the resources at hand
- Provide opportunities for fellowship and membership recruitment.
Our largest service project at present is led by our Community Services Director, Richard Majewski, and involves Early Childhood Development.
