We received notice today of a deposit to our Matching Grant account by the District Fiscal Agent.  This is the first of two deposits from The Rotary Foundation toward a Matching Grant totalling $75,000.  The grant was made possible by funding of $ 49 900 from The Rotary Club of Foster City, $100 from Newlands Rotary, and $25 000 from The Rotary Foundation (TRF). 

Newlands will manage the implementation in South Africa, in liaison with TRF, Foster City Rotary and LEAP Science & Maths School and the Club extends a huge vote of thanks to the Rotary Club of Foster City and to The Rotary Foundation.

Said Margie Schlenoff who, with her husband Larry, a Rotarian from Foster City Rotary, initiatied the grant - "We are thrilled to announce this significant grant that has been accomplished through the diligence of our Rotary International friends in South Africa and the US.  Deepest thanks and congratulations on this achievement that enriches the relationships between our countries, Teach with Africa, and the LEAP Schools."
